Recovered in Georgia. Prepared for Abrasive Blasting.

Where Our Glass Comes From

_

Most crushed glass blasting media starts as bottles from curbside recycling. Ours doesn’t.

Zafa media is made from the flat sheet glass in end-of-life solar panels and CRT screens, recovered under certified management at CompuPoint USA’s facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

That’s why it’s clean, consistent and traceable.

Same for every grade

From solar panels to blasting media, all in Georgia

_
  • End-of-life solar panels and CRT displays arrive at CompuPoint USA’s R2v3- and RIOS-certified facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
  • Solar cover glass and non-leaded CRT panel glass are separated. Leaded CRT funnel glass is kept out and goes only to licensed smelters.
  • Zafa Glass crushes, screens and lot-tests the glass for RCRA metals, then bags it as blasting media.

Why sheet glass is cleaner

Why sheet glass makes cleaner media

_

Industrial solar cover glass and non-leaded CRT panel glass provide a different feedstock from mixed post-consumer bottle cullet. The client’s stated material stream excludes bottle labels, caps, paper and food residue associated with bottle collection.

Actual foreign-matter percentage and loss-on-ignition values must be supported by the latest grade-specific test results before numerical claims appear on this page.

Quality control

How we check every lot

_
  • Leaded and non-leaded CRT glass are separated at the start of processing and stored apart.
  • Each lot is screened to grade and tested for lead and the other RCRA metals.
  • Crystalline silica is verified by XRD: <0.1%.
  • A Safety Data Sheet and Technical Data Sheet are available for every grade.

Certified facility

Recovered under R2v3 and RIOS

_

The glass in Zafa media is recovered at CompuPoint USA, an R2v3 and RIOS certified electronics and solar panel recycler audited by Perry Johnson Registrars. Every material leaving the facility is tracked to its next user, and Zafa turns the glass into blasting media.
