General-Purpose Surface Preparation

Medium Crushed Glass Blasting Media, 20/40 Mesh

_

Zafa 20/40 is our all-purpose grade: fast enough for production paint and rust removal, fine enough to leave a uniform, medium profile on steel. Recycled from industrial sheet glass in Georgia, it has no free crystalline silica and no trash to clog your pot or metering valve. It's the grade to start with when you move off medium coal slag.

Switching from coal slag

Switching from medium coal slag?

_

20/40 glass is the usual replacement for medium coal slag on steel and hulls. It's lighter, so a pound covers more surface, and the light-colored finish makes it easier to see missed spots.

Same for every grade

From solar panels to blasting media, all in Georgia

_
  • End-of-life solar panels and CRT displays arrive at CompuPoint USA’s R2v3- and RIOS-certified facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
  • Solar cover glass and non-leaded CRT panel glass are separated. Leaded CRT funnel glass is kept out and goes only to licensed smelters.
  • Zafa Glass crushes, screens and lot-tests the glass for RCRA metals, then bags it as blasting media.
