Controlled Cleaning and Surface Finishing

Fine Crushed Glass Blasting Media, 40/80 Mesh

_

afa 40/80 cleans and strips with a shallow, even profile, for thin metal and finished surfaces where coarser media would warp or pit the substrate. Like every Zafa grade, it's recycled from solar panel and CRT glass in Georgia, with no free crystalline silica and no bottle debris. The light color leaves a bright, clean finish that's easy to inspect.

Finishing tip

Getting the best finish

_

On thin sheet metal, use lower pressure and keep the nozzle moving to limit heat build-up. For indoor or dust-sensitive work, use 40/80 in a blast cabinet or with wet blasting.

Same for every grade

From solar panels to blasting media, all in Georgia

  • End-of-life solar panels and CRT displays arrive at CompuPoint USA’s R2v3- and RIOS-certified facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
  • Solar cover glass and non-leaded CRT panel glass are separated. Leaded CRT funnel glass is kept out and goes only to licensed smelters.
  • Zafa Glass crushes, screens and lot-tests the glass for RCRA metals, then bags it as blasting media.
